Mindful walking is a simple yet powerful way to improve both physical and mental wellbeing.
By bringing your attention to each step, your breathing, and the sights and sounds around you, mindful walking helps reduce stress, calm a busy mind, and increase your sense of presence in the moment.
Regular practice can enhance mood, improve focus, and support emotional resilience, while also providing the physical benefits of gentle exercise. Whether enjoyed in nature, around your neighbourhood, or during a work break, mindful walking offers an accessible opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and cultivate a greater sense of balance in daily life.
I am part of St Albans Self Care & Connection - together we are delivering free self-care and wellbeing activities to the local community including monthly mindful walks.

Mindfulness courses in St Albans & Online

About the course:
Whether you’re completely new to mindfulness or returning after some time away, this 3-session Introducing Mindfulness course offers a supportive and spacious re-entry into practice.
Over three weeks, you’ll be guided through the foundations of mindfulness in a way that is practical, experiential and relevant to everyday life. Each weekly session explores a core theme, gently building on the last.

Session 2 content: New ways of being — exploring attitudes and approaches that can support you in meeting whatever is present, just as it is.

Session 3 content: Responding rather than reacting — recognising the difference and how this understanding can bring greater choice, balance, and ease into your life.

Sessions are led by Dawn (a qualified Oxford Mindfulness Teacher) and include guided mindfulness practices, accessible teaching, time for reflection and group discussion.
You’ll be encouraged to gently explore what you’re learning in your daily life, with simple home practices offered to support continuity between sessions.
This is a structured yet welcoming course, designed to help you build confidence and continuity in mindfulness practice over three weeks — offering not just a taste of mindfulness, but a foundation you can carry forward into your life.
