Helping You Break Free from Anxiety and Reclaim Your Life.
Hello, my name is Dawn Kett, a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and qualified Mindfulness Teacher with a passion for helping people overcome anxiety and build lasting confidence.
I understand how exhausting anxiety can be. Whether it's constant worry, overthinking, panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety or intrusive thoughts, anxiety can affect every aspect of daily life. It can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed and unable to enjoy the things that matter most.
My goal is to provide a space where we can work together to understand what is keeping your anxiety going and develop practical strategies to help you move forward.
My Approach:
I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach recommended for the treatment of anxiety disorders and also use mindfulness principles in my practice.
Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, CBT helps us understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours. Together, we identify the patterns that maintain anxiety and develop effective ways of responding differently.
Areas I Specialise In:
I work with adults and young people aged 16 and over experiencing:
-
Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
-
Social Anxiety
-
Health Anxiety
-
Panic Attacks and Panic Disorder
-
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
-
Excessive Worry and Overthinking
-
Stress and Burnout
-
Low Self-Confidence
-
Perfectionism
-
People pleasing
-
Imposter syndrome
-
Fear of Uncertainty
Whether your anxiety has developed recently or has been present for many years, effective support is available.
What You Can Expect From Therapy:
Many people come to therapy feeling nervous or unsure about what to expect.
Our first session is an opportunity to explore your difficulties in more detail, understand the impact anxiety is having on your life and discuss your goals for therapy.
Together, we will:
-
Develop a clear understanding of your difficulties
-
Identify the factors maintaining your anxiety
-
Create a personalised treatment plan
-
Learn practical CBT/mindfulness tools and strategies
-
Build confidence through gradual, meaningful change
-
Work towards long-term emotional wellbeing
My aim is not simply to help you feel better in the short term but to help you develop skills you can continue using long after therapy has ended.
Why I Focus on Anxiety:
I have seen first-hand how anxiety can limit people's lives, affecting relationships, careers, education and overall wellbeing.
I also know that anxiety is highly treatable when approached with the right support and evidence-based techniques.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing clients regain confidence, reconnect with what matters to them and discover that anxiety no longer needs to dictate their choices.
Taking the First Step:
Reaching out for support can feel difficult, particularly when anxiety is already making life challenging.
If you're considering therapy, I invite you to get in touch. Together, we can explore what's been keeping you stuck and work towards helping you feel calmer, more confident and more in control of your life.
Contact me today to arrange an initial assessment and take the first step towards overcoming anxiety.
