What are the different types of sessions?
What is an Initial Assessment?
We will start by discussing the reasons that have brought you to therapy and exploring the challenges you are currently facing. This process allows us to gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, as well as the impact they have on your daily life.
In addition, we will discuss your goals and aspirations. What would you like to achieve through therapy? Whether it's reducing anxiety, managing stress, improving self-esteem, or enhancing your overall well-being, your goals will serve as a compass guiding our work together.
The initial assessment is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions or express any concerns you may have.
Open communication is key to establishing a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, so please feel free to share anything that is important to you.
Remember, the initial assessment is just the beginning. It sets the stage for our therapeutic journey together and as we progress, we will continuously reassess and adapt our approach to ensure it aligns with your evolving needs and goals.
If at the end of the initial assessment, we feel that CBT is not a good fit then I can signpost you to other suitable therapies/support.
What about a Therapy Session?
Following an initial assessment, I recommend you then attend weekly therapy sessions.
As we embark on this journey together, we will collaboratively explore the underlying causes of your challenges. We will examine the patterns of thinking, belief systems and behaviours that may be contributing to your difficulties. We will work towards unravelling these patterns and replacing them with healthier, more empowering alternatives.
Throughout our sessions, you will learn practical tools and techniques that you can apply in your everyday life.

As we progress through the therapy journey, we will regularly revisit your goals and aspirations. This allows us to track your progress and ensure that our work together is helping you achieve the positive change you desire. Your goals will serve as a roadmap, guiding our sessions and keeping us focused on what matters most to you.
Why schedule a free 15 minute consultation?

Are you curious about therapy and how it can benefit you? I invite you to take advantage of a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This brief but valuable conversation will provide you with insights into the therapy process and allow you to ask any questions you may have. It's an opportunity to get to know me as a therapist, understand my approach and ensure that we are a good fit for working together.

There is no obligation to continue beyond this consultation if you feel it is not the right fit for you.
