Hi, I’m Dawn

I’m a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and an Oxford Mindfulness trained Mindfulness Teacher.

 

I have extensive experience working in mental health services in the NHS and Private Practice.  Supporting people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, stress  and work-related challenges.  ​​​​​

Therapy should be tailored to the individual, not force the person to fit the therapy.  I adapt the number and structure of sessions to suit your needs.

As a psychotherapist with experience in the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, I understand how closely mental health and work are connected, and I support people to stay in, return to, or find meaningful employment.

I have supported many people who want to improve their mental health while also managing work, returning to employment, finding their first employment or building confidence around their career.

I understand the pressures that work can bring, including:

  • Anxiety and stress related to work

  • Low confidence or self-doubt in the workplace

  • Returning to work after a period of mental ill health

  • Balancing mental wellbeing with employment goals

This combined experience allows me to offer therapy that is grounded in real-life challenges, particularly for clients whose mental health is affecting their working life.

The initial consultation is a chargeable one-hour appointment that allows time for an in-depth exploration of your difficulties, including how they developed and what may be maintaining them. This session also helps us determine whether CBT would be a good fit for your needs.
